FETCH! is a not-for-profit organization that is devoted to promoting safe, responsible off-leash play time for dogs and their owners. It was created in 1998 after 81-year-old Margaret Kuehn was not allowed to let her dog run off-leash at Double Bluff Beach. After much persistence and help from others supporting the cause, in 1999 a trial period was agreed to. It went so well that after a year the off-leash area became permanent. Since then, five off-leash parks have been scattered across Whidbey Island from North to South. For more information about FETCH!, please call (360) 321-4049 or visit the web site at www.fetchparks.org.
