SEATTLE, Wash.—(April 25, 2008)—Purple Café and Wine Bar has hit upon a perfect way to transport guests to another part of the world, without anyone having to get on a plane.
Each location (Kirkland, Seattle and Woodinville) will host a wine region-inspired week in 2008. The week will be a celebration of that wine region reflected in by-the-glass selections, wine flights, bottle options and dinner specials. Then, each regional wine week will culminate in a sit-down wine dinner with all courses and wine parings tied to the designated region.
“Devoting an entire week to the wines and foods of a region is an approachable way to try less familiar items without committing to a wine dinner,” says Wine Director Christene Larsen. “Of course, we also wanted to offer a wine dinner for those who want to have the full experience.”

Larry and Tabitha Kurofsky moved their family to the Northwest in 2000 to open a food and wine concept that merged an extensive global wine selection with classic American-styled food in a casual, sophisticated environment. In 2001, Purple Café and Wine Bar opened in Woodinville, Wash., followed by a second location in Kirkland, Wash., in 2003. In 2006, the couple opened their flagship location in downtown Seattle, which features a 20-foot wine tower and a food and wine tasting bar. A fourth location in Bellevue will open November 2008.
